Tap dance was developed in the United States in the 19th century. The dancer uses the tap shoe as a percussion instrument to create choreographed rhythm.

Ballet means “to dance”. Through ballet lessons students acquire benefits such as gracefulness, self discipline, flexibility, and great posture.

Jazz is a modern form of ballet that focuses on combinations, leaps, jumps and turns to upbeat music. Experience in ballet is beneficial to this art form.

Hip Hop is a funky form of jazz that incorporates quick street dancing moves. Experience in jazz is beneficial to this art form.

Lyrical is a mixed blend of ballet and jazz that emphasizes emotion. Ballet is not only beneficial but also a prerequisite or corequisite to the lyrical art form.

Pointe is ballet dancing on the toes. This is an advanced form of ballet that requires great strength and extensive ballet techniques. The dance instructor will let one know when they think one is ready for pointe lessons.

Competition dance classes are available on a teacher referral or audition basis.

Pom is a hip hop form of dance that uses pom poms. It is highly recommended for future dance team members.  

Tots classes are for 2-4 years of age. The child will have fun, get some exercise and enjoy a “play date” with their new friends.
